Are you interested in developing the capacity to design and facilitate engaging meetings and events, either for yourself or your team?

The best learning happens through practice, and your work context provides the ideal learning ground. My approach is tailored to your specific needs. Here are few ideas of how such a process might look like.

Join me in the “backstage” for the design of your event

When working with clients for the design of an event, I offer the possibility to one or two people from their team to join me “backstage”. What does it imply?

During the event design process, we will have multiple meetings with you as a client. However, each of those meetings has its own preparation process. This is my craft and I can invite you to join me and learn how I do it. I will explain to you the different steps, we will fill in together the detailed design script, we will work with the open questions in the process and if needed I can also give you some theoretical background of models I apply in my work. So you have to be willing to invest some extra time but the benefit is that you will be learning while designing your own event.

Get support to step up as a facilitator yourself

If you’re looking to facilitate a participatory event, keep in mind that design comes first! Facilitation without design is moderation, a crucial role but a distinct one. Consider my ‘Participatory Meeting Design Consulting‘ if you are aiming to facilitate.

It is recommended that you have completed Art of Hosting or another facilitation training and wish to apply your experience.

What does my support with your facilitation involve? Embracing a personalized approach means that the journey may vary for each individual, yet here are a few tailored options:

Design Process Support:

  • One-on-one sessions conducted prior to your event, delving into your role as a facilitator.
  • Focused on the event’s design, I can pinpoint potential challenges and guide you on how to navigate them.
  • Discussions centering around your approach, ensuring you feel confident and supported throughout the process.

Post-Event Feedback:

  • Reflect on what worked well and areas for potential improvement.
  • Explore strategies and insights for enhancing future facilitation endeavors.

Facilitation Partnership:

  • An alternative option involves my direct involvement during the facilitation itself.
  • As you take the lead, I am there to provide support, ensuring a seamless and successful facilitation experience.

This personalized approach aims to align with your unique needs, fostering your growth and confidence in your facilitation journey.

Build capacity within a team

If you’re aiming to enhance the collective capacity of a group or team, my approach integrates a mix of customized training sessions, individual consultations, and on-the-job mentoring. This approach is tailored to your unique needs and context, recognizing the importance of adapting to the specific dynamics of your team.

An integral aspect of team capacity building is fostering an environment where learning happens within the team itself. This provides a valuable opportunity for team members to share experiences, grow together, and mutually support one another on their collaborative journey.

Continuous on-demand collaboration

I have had the privilege of working with individuals over the years, consulting them on various situations, events, and processes they have encountered. If you are seeking more comprehensive and ongoing support, we can discuss what that might entail.

Further topics on which I have been offering training over the years include:

  • Leading effective meeting
  • Distinction between in-person and online meetings
  • Online design and facilitation
  • Technical Zoom hosting of participatory conferences
  • Active listening
